365 Days of White

I have been seeing projects all over about people who take pictures for 365 days, or write a word each day for a year..take pictures of thier outfits everyday for 365 days. I'm not the type to be patient, ambitious, motivated, and I have a terrible memory. That makes me sound like a bad person in general...but I really just like so many things that I get distracted when something new and different comes along. That being said, I want to do something for 365 days!

My goal: I will take a picture of myself for 365 days, everyday, around the same time-ish. I want to be able to do different effects, but then I dont think I would notice any changes, so I will try and keep them all the same. I am also going to have a one sentence description for each day. A quote maybe?

Day 1 was yesterday September 26, 2012. I am going to have a few different starting pictures, to get my ball rolling and my motivation up. Also, this is not a "how vain am I?" project, I really want to document myself for a year and see how my face changes, and if I can tell when I was stressed, happy, sad, hurting...whatever.

"Every story has a beginning and an end., but the most important part is what happens in between."

Day 2, September 27 2012.

I think after i do them all I will make a flip book. Just to see if I change throughout the year.

Paint Chip Art

I have a thing for paint chips (apparently some people call them paint swatches). Either way I love them. I wanted to do something with them and found a heart punch. So VOILA!

Super easy..time consuming but easy.

Tagexdo

Found this awesome thing where you put in your words, webpage, twitter name, whatever you want and it creates like a 'word cloud' but this one is cooler because you can make it into a variety of different shapes!
look!!
...ok well i havent played with it enough to make it be normal sized so this is a smaller version. but its a rooster!

I put the galaxy on my shoes

I have seen so many things that look like the "galaxy" and since my head is usually up in space, I like this trend. I have made a couple galaxy shirts which to my suprise turned out really well. Usually anything to do with dying or altering clothes, is not my forte.
Walmart has had these white ked looking shoes for a couple months now (for $5.00!!) but they always were sold out of every size normal humans wear. I finally found my size a few days ago and knew that I would have to do something super special to make them worth it. Well, I decided to galaxify them.

I used regular paint and put black in large circles all over the shoes. I then took a tan color (because when you do the shirts, you use a black shirt and spray it with bleach which turns it into a tan color) and put the tan color where the black wasnt, so at first they looked like some sort of black and tan camo.

I then used blue and purple and just in no rhyme or reason, started to cover everything! I used a tiny bit of green in places, and then i finished it off with some flicks of gold glitter paint.

I was terrified they would look like a homemade galaxy lab in my basement disaster, but they turned out pretty cute!

I put the white laces back in them (i think they need black though) and when I wear them will take another picture so you can see they aren't bad lookig ON either.

Rosette Shirt

I bought this shirt a while ago that had these rosettes on the front, but they were falling off. So I took them off, had no idea what I was going to do with them, and then had a moment of genius. This is what came out of it.

Just a black shirt from walmart, and I hand stiched the flowers on.

I think it looks pretty good.

DIY Dry Erase Goodness

I saw this idea on Pinterest (of course) that you take a picture frame and put scrapbook paper inside and then you can use dry erase to write schedules, notes, whatever on it.

Kind of genius, and I am going to try the 3 day diet (aka the Military Diet) where you lose ten pounds in 3 days. I desperately need to get rid of the medicine weight, and maybe then I will feel a little better about doing things, and won't have to drive home upset because I attempted to go out and couldn't do it. (Instead I take out all my anger in crafty ways).

I found a frame:

Put scrapbook paper in it (originally i had a really cute pattern over a coral color, and then tried to write on it and realized that it was almost impossible to read.)

It looked cute, but i had to take the patterned paper out. (Also I am left handed and it is VERY hard to not completely clear what I just wrote while I write more).

This is what it ended up looking like. The original one I saw used paint chips, which I think would break it up nicely. Also a larger frame. I will try that next.

They say that things are always clearer after the storm. I guess you can say that for eyes after crying.

I will be the Pinterest Pioneer

My new goal is to actually do the things that I pin to my Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/corinnewins/). I have so many things pinned that I forget about I want to actually begin doing them. This will help me stay busy, keep my mind engaged, and create awesome things.

I think I am going to move things I try over to another board and then post the blog posts that I create onto that board. My first try was on July 4th when I saw a shirt that I liked and decided to create my own version. I did my take on the bow back shirt with lace. The image below is taken from the link below.

I took a shirt I found at target with an anchor on it and cut off the sleeves and then used some lace and created the bow effect in the back. I also tied a ribbon on the shoulder and just stitched the center to be sure it wouldn't come untied. I will get a picture of the back of the shirt on here soon.
